But, I like some standardized testing because it allows for school systems to be uniformly at least as good as the test. Unfortunately, there are things wrong with both the MCAS and SAT and even with the test, what is actually taught in class varies greatly from state to state, public to private, and teacher to teacher.</description>

		<description>What is wrong is that we are stuck in an obsolete system.  The use of performance assessments and portfolios must replace rigid systems such as MCAS for students to connect learning with real world applications.  New Hampshire has made a huge step by implementing graduation portfolios instead of high-stakes, norm-referenced tests.  The box of a schedule and the habeas corpus of time on learning must also be shattered.  Someone of your ilk should have finished high school in a year or two, while others need six years.  It is imperative we find a way to offer a new paradigm if we&#039;re ever going to get out of this mess...</description>
